Beware…..Road Closures Imminent………………

There will be a number of Road Closures in the area over the next few weeks which will affect people living in and traveling through Walton in the evening and night on certain days, these are as follows:
A3050 Church Street, Walton – May 21st – 22nd Closure & Nightworks from 8pm for 2nights
A3050 Oatlands Drive, Weybridge – May 23rd to 24th Closure & Nightworks from 8pm for 2 nights
Below is the notice from Surrey County Council concerning Church Street Walton.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
(A3050) CHURCH STREET, WALTON ON THAMES
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2012
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSE TO MAKE the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to: -
Prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding along the length of (A3050) Church Street, Walton on Thames, from its junction with Manor Road for a distance of 124 metres in a westerly direction.
Access for residents, emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
The Order is required to allow Surrey County Council to carry out structural resurfacing works. This will come into force on 18 May 2012 for a period of 12 months, however the works are expected to take 4 nights within this period. The prohibition will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
The alternative route for vehicles will be –
From the eastern point of the closure continue in a north easterly direction along (A3050) Terrace Road, right onto (D3814) Cottimore Lane, onto (D3825) Ambleside Avenue, right onto (D3830) Rydens Road, right onto (A244) Hersham Road, onto (A244) New Zealand Road, right onto (A3050) Bridge Street, onto (A3050) Hepworth Way to the western point of the closure. Vice versa for traffic approaching (A3050) Church Street from the western point of the closure.

Prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding along the length of (A3050) Oatlands Drive, Walton on Thames, from its junction with Berkley Court for a distance of 134 metres in a south-westerly direction.
Access for residents, emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
The Order is required to allow Surrey County Council to carry out structural resurfacing works. This will come into force on 23 May 2012 for a period of 12 months, however the works are expected to take 2 nights within this period. The prohibition will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
The alternative route for vehicles will be –
From the northern point of the closure travelling north along (A3050) Oatlands Drive, turn right onto (A244) New Zealand Avenue, onto (A244) High Street, right onto (B365) Ashley Road, right onto (A317) Queens Road, right onto (A3050) Oatland Road to the southern end of the closure. Vice versa for traffic approaching from the southern end of the closure.
