Road works and the resultant traffic diversions are certainly more prevelant this year partly because of the need to have better quality road surfaces for cyclists on the Olympic Cycle Test Event. However, when traffic diversions are directed through Walton for activities not directly associated with Walton, residents get frustrated and upset as long traffic queues build up in the town and central main roads. The next stage of Drewitts Court study by Elmbridge Borough Council seems to have taken place this week in that some new white lines and warnings have been painted in the car park.
