The River Thames Society is hosting an evening talk by Ian Dow. Former Engineering Manager with BBC TV Outside Broadcasts, Ian Dow of Lower Sunbury will be giving a talk on Friday 18th November, 7:30pm at St Nicholas Parish Hall, Church Square, Shepperton TW17 9JY. Olympic Torch Relay to pass through more than 1,000 communities The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) revealed the 1,000 cities, towns and villages on the route of the Olympic Torch Relay. Between 18 May and 27 July, the Olympic Flame will come to within just 10 miles of 95% of the population of the UK. Walton Playhouse Refurbishment Work is now well underway on the refurbshment of The Playhouse as can be seen from the photograph below. Heritage Day 2011 Another successful Heritage Day was held at Walton Wharf on Saturday.  A couple of showers did not dampen the enthusiasm of those involved, and, as in previous years, there was a steady stream of visitors through the afternoon.
